OVERVIEW
The DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Pedal gives you the most extreme distortion you will ever hear. Simply put, the gain is turned up to eleven and then the knob is ripped off!

Level, Low, Mid, and High tone controls provide flexible tone shaping so even though the distortion is over the top, your guitar is guaranteed to slice through. Low, Mid, and High tone controls give you the flexibility to boost or cut the bass, middle, and treble frequencies and the Level knob boosts the output level of your signal.

SOUND
The Digitech Death Metal is a one of the best distortion pedals for metal (providing you are willing to spend a little time dialing in different settings). The overall tone of the pedal is a thick crunchy tone, however you can of course create a whole array of sounds.

The sounds offered range from light overdrive through to complete, over-the-top distortion. With the huge amount of distortion available it can take a little time to dial in a sound that isn’t TOO heavy. If you’re looking for a distortion pedal that will create thick, dark, chunky palm muted notes then this is the perfect pedal for you.

The pedal doesn’t particularly offer many warm tones, however it isn’t really made for that. If you’re wanting all-out metal then I’d recommend you buy this pedal and give it a go, however if if you’re wanting something a little more resevered then check out a lighter distortion pedal such as the Boss DS-2 or for a thick warm tone, the Ibanez Jemini.
